I don't want to brag but I think you'll be very happy with the Mac,  
its a slightly different ball game but you'll notice a huge difference  
immediately when you start to use the machine, well I certainly did  
when I started using an Ibook 2 years ago, they were the Power PC  
chips then and the Intel Mac machines I'm using now just leave that  
one for dead! I'd still be satisfied using the Ibook if I still had it  
today! thought I'd mention this to perhaps put things into a bit of  
perspective if you see what I'm getting at.
Anyway good luck when you're ready and I'm sure you'll find plenty of  
people and such like around to give you a bit of a hand or point you  
in the right direction.
