High Randy,
You're right, you don't want to use water to clean your records.
All water will do is make the dust stick to the grooves.
When that happens, it's a lot of hard work to remove the dust from the 
record.
Use a slightly damp cloth that's been damped with alcohol.
That should do the trick for you.
