Besides the amount of memory, the only other thing that I am aware of is that the DS50 also comes with a wired remote control. It plugs into where the detachable stereo mic plugs into and then the stereo mic now plug into the other end of the remote. It is really kind of like an extension for the mic with a switch on it to pause and start recording. If that isn't important to you, then the other models are identical with different memory sizes. Personally, I like having the 1GB of storage, but that of course is just personal preference.

Hi all, getting ready to make a purchase on the Olympis 40 or 50. Is there any difference between the two, other than storage space? Are all the functions the same? Is there an advantage in the 50, other than storage? Because nobody carries the 50, so it would have to be ordered on line, I do not like this, its to much of a hassle if you got to return it for some reason. but Frys or Fries? carries both the 30 and the 40 but not the 50, so this purchase thing does make a difference for me. Anyone out there know? Thank you, MMM Michael Thanks You... TickTalk Publishing Invites You... And www.ticktalk.net Welcomes You... Read Our Stories And Have A Better Life!
