Since the decoders are made the same, you can transfer files without
difficulty. I'm ripping in WMA lossless and all is well.

Subject: wma lossless

Hi
I feel I should know this by now but I don't.
I'm ripping my collection again, this time in wma lossless. I'm baffled by
the bitrates I'm getting - it says 16bit and44.1 but the actual bitrates
fluctuate depending on the song, from in some cases 190 to 780 etc. Is this
truly lossless and can I be sure it's not worse than wav or Apple lossless?

Also can I assume that if I rip using 2 machines then I can add the second
machine's contents to the first's music folder and that Windows Media Player
will add them to the library and treat them as if they'd been ripped on the
first machine?
Thanks for your help.
