Larry,
The antenna comes with a 21 foot long wire, so it is possible to mount the 
antenna on a rooftop if necessary. If you have an internal wall facing south 
that might work, however if there is a overhang that could also pose a 
problem. The antenna has to be facing south, otherwise you will have dropout 
of the signal coming from the cluster of transmitting satellites. The 
antenna is mounted on a hinged type base that can be adjusted to maximize 
the strength of the incoming signal in much the same way that one adjusts a 
TV or FM radio antenna. I find that a 45degree angle of the antenna seems to 
worke best for me.   . .
