Hey Bob, We are shifting to a recorder that doesn't have the hiss that those mini-discs have. It's called a Marantz Model PMD660, a portable solid state recorder. I haven't used it myself, but reporters say it's terrific. One big advantage is the ability to avoid having to download your recordings in real time. It uses a wave file that only takes a quarter of the time of a mini-disc.
