Hello, I am a SF user and have been for a while. I do use SF 5 because I have Window-eyes and am scared to move on. Anyway please remember there is a reason SF is an expensive program. It is because it is a powerful program. You can do, as far as I have seen, just about anything with the right time and patience. Sorry, lost track. SF has regions and markers just like other editors. All you have to do is tell SF what to look for and it will split your file in to regions, then you can look through them and if you like them; have them extracted to files. There is even some presets on what to look for. I had a minidisc of my work that I needed dumped to a file. I made one big file and had SF look for the silence to split it into tracks. It worked beautifully. Markers are somewhat different then regions markers are more for smaller fine-tuned editing I believe but that is a whole different topic. I hope this helps and if you need anything else let me know. P.S. Instead of files you can also delete the regions that contain the silence if you still wanted a continuous file. bb
