Hi mike.
I fixed this on a previous machine with winamp 5.32 and it had something to 
do with registering a .dll.
I'm going to see if I can recreate the problem and fix it again.

I just looked in
ver 5.32, and neither is an available file type.
This means one of 2 things:
support was introduced in a subsequent version
you have a plug-in that adds this capability.

Your answer addresses the issue that these files can be handled.
Now, what is needed is someone to show us how to get there so to speak.
