Here below is a whole thread discussing using windows Media to rip and burn cd's.
As usual, in windows, there is more than one way to do things. I am in the habit of opening my cd drive in My Computer and opening the folder containing my files to be burned in another My Computer window. I then copy the files into the cd drive window, attempting to get them in the right order. Once this is finished, I hit alt-f, t, to begin the burn process. (One can also arrow to the 'write these files to cd' option.) this launches the cd-writing wizard. The first step is to name the cd. At this point, there needs to be a cd in the drive. You then choose whether you are burning a data or music cd. Data cd's can contain music or other files, but will only play in a computer or mp3 player. Music cd's play in computers and also cd players. Once you make this choice, if you are burning a data cd, burning starts. If you are burning a music cd, windows Media Player opens. You cn hit alt-b to begin the burn process at this point, but I recommend tabbing many times to get to the list of songs to be burned to verify that they are in the right order. If they aren't, highlight one you want to move and use the context menu with options to move up or move down. then hit alt-b. this all assumes you are running xp and have windows Media Player 10. Here, from earlier pc-audio discussions, are other takes and other information. Dean From: "Kat" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. Select the entire list of files using Control and the letter "a". 2. Press the Application Key. 3. Arrow to the option for removing the selected items, and press enter. I really need to get Nero 6, way too many controls in that media player thing, but it works in a pinch.
