Can you use your dvd reader/writer for other things, is it recognising and 
playing discs you put in it etc? just wondering if the connection in the 
actual machine is loose.

If you only have the one machine, is it possible that as you don't need to 
make a choice, it will be blank, have you got as far as an error message 
coming up?  I go through all of the setting up and wait for it to throw the 
drawer open for me to put the disc in, quite useful actually as I always 
forget which drive's which LOL

Any way, fill me in on what happens and I'll see if I can think of anything, 
I'm new to all of this too but you never know, two heads and all that!!
