hi. There is no given length for the time of a specific file based
on the file size, because of how it's produced, what bitrate it's at,
sampling rate also comes into play, etc.
If you use JAWS and Winamp, any version from 2.9 up to the current
5.24, press control insert pluss t and you will be told how long the
file is in minutes and seconds. Similarly, if you press alt plus
shift plus t, the elapsed time of the currently playing track will be
spoken. you can also do this while a track is paused. Finally, to
get the remaining time of the track, control plus shift plus t is what
you'll want to press. If you don't use JAWS however, you can press
control plus j and the jump to time dialogue box will open. You will
be told how long the file is and it'll give you the opportunity to
jump to a specific point in the file, in minutes and seconds. So if
you have a 65 minute long file, and you want to jump 25 minutes and
15 seconds in, press control plus j and then type the following:
25:15
and press enter. and then you should be taken to that point in the file.
Hope this helps.
