.RAR files are the most widely used on USEnet for distributing large binaries in small parts (movies, DTS, ISO's, CD images, etc.) You can specify the exact size you want your archive piece to be with RAR, rather than pick from a list of sizes with WinZIP. There may be a place buried in there somewhere where you can set the archive slice size arbitrarily, but I've never found anything but the list of sizes.
