Marsha, the default can be one of two radio buttons.
Use default buffering (recommended)
All the say about that is the buffer is
An area of computer memory reserved for temporarily holding data before that 
data is used on the receiving computer.
or
Buffer 5 seconds of content.
5 is the default for the seond radio button and it can be up to 60.
