I wasn't looking for this, really I wasn't, but I found a volumizer
(for lack of a better term)--you know, AGC + multi-band compresser +
eq--whose sound I absolutely have fallen in love with since I
installed it. I'll say what it is if that's allowed, Mr. Lister,
maybe
you'll let me know if it's OK to name names. I'd love to use it for
broadcasting. I use it now in the house/office for general playback
purposes and it's just an amazing sound. The problem is, it's an
output plug-in, not a DSP, so I'm not exactly sure how to use it in
conjunction with either a DSP streamer like Shoutcast or stand-alone
like Duckstream. In fact, I'm not even a hundred percent sure it
*can* be used in a broadcast environment. Further, would it modify
other non-Winamp audio such as what comes through the sound card's
inputs (microphone or line-in)? I've been testing with it and it
seems like the answer is no. This is really too bad because the audio
out of this thing is just so superior to anything else I've heard to
date for Winamp.
