Pretty well all you need to do can be done on the multitrack section: change volume, pan, add effects and bus effects mainly in real time, arm/disarm tracks, record one whileanother is playing, route inputs and outputs, etc., etc.
It certainly is comprehensive.

Hi James I do not use Sound Forge, only Audition 1.5. The main difference I know of is that Audition has the multitrack feature which allows one to build a recording up by tracks. I think I'm right that Sound Forge has only stereo track editing.
If you need more details about a manual for Audition please contact me off list.
Also if you need the Audition accessible jaws scripts please mention this.
