I hope I'm understanding what you want to know by 'single track efficiently'. If not please get back to me.
Audition comes with 2 settings for editing. The multitrack mode whith possibilities of hundreds of tracks. The one I use mainly it the 'Edit View' which only allows one stereo track or one single track upon which all the edits, effects, etc. can by enacted. You can either load in a stereo or mono track into this 'Edit View' or send a track there from the Multitrack view, in effect swapping them back and forwards to get the maximum editability from the program.
Regards.
Gordon

I agree with the statements regarding the multi-track speech-friendliness of Audition. I have one question, how do you edit a single track efficiently using speech either jaws or wineyes.

changeHi Peter Pretty well all you need to do can be done on the multitrack section:etc.,volume, pan, add effects and bus effects mainly in real time, arm/disarm tracks, record one whileanother is playing, route inputs and outputs, ofetc.
It certainly is comprehensive.
