Sun Sparkle! In my opinion most any cheap computer microphone will do fine for voice chat. Now I'm ducking the flames. However, if you want to make hi fidelity audio recordings of any sort then you should consider getting some sort of microphone preamp and a higher quality microphone. Do you have a budget in mind? Would you want to make stereo recordings? You could do very well for $200 or so.
