The IRIVER H 140 and H340 are supposed to be really blind friendly. Also, people are working on porting Rockbox to these units which will speak everything. I use Rockbox on my Archos and love it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Samco" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Hi, bobcat, After doing quite a bit of research, I just today purchased the iRiver iFP-795 which is identical to the iFP-790 except for the memory being 512 MB. I talked with an iRiver tech who said he had spoken to a number of blind users using the iFP-700 series. He also said that the latest firmware, version 1.25 now includes adjustment of playback speed. I also particularly wanted the ability to record direct from the FM tuner which the 700 series has. I completely reviewed the user manual for the 700 series and found it to be particularly unhelpful. I expect to get a lot of initial help from my son when I first start using it. I am trusting the operation and menus are predictably accessed and can be mostly used without sight. Check with me in a couple weeks or more to see what I have learned first hand. Jeff At 03:02 PM 4/30/05, you wrote: >I've heard on this list that the Iriver IFP-790 is easy for VIPs to use.
