Depends on how the microphone is connected to your system.  If you're using 
a mixer, make sure the line in box in the recording options under your 
sounds tab in the control panel is checked.  If you're using the microphone 
input, make sure that is checked.  Only one should be checked at a time, but 
in most instances, when you check one, the other us automatically unchecked. 
At least that is the way it works on my computer.

i can record in mp3 format and how do i record my voice. my mike is working 
but when i record just my voice it wont work. is there some settings i need 
to configure and if so how do i go about doing it?
