I would guess that you will probably have to unplug your speakers unless you have one of those newer computers with jacks in the front as well as the back. And it doesn't sound like you have one of those. Another solution is a splitter. You can get them at radio shack. Just tell them you want to change one output jack into two. It may decrease the level of sound from the speakers, but not much and you can always increase the volume a little to compensate. If that doesn't work for some reason, then I don't Know. But the splitter can be gotten for probably less than $5, and certainly less than $10, so it won't cost you much to find out if it works or not.
