Hi. I use the Sony ICD-BP recorders (I'm not sure of my particular model number, but models of these recorders are similar). It's not accessible as to its screen, but the interface software to transfer the recordings to a computer is fine, and you can perform all functions, including changing many settings, from that software. Recording is just a matter of hitting one button, and the same button is hit to stop recording. It has beeps which are a help in working with the machine when away from the computer. It has no expansion, but has a USB port, so make sure the one you buy has more time on it than you'll need. It can transfer the recordings as wav files, which can then be turned into mp3 files which can be played on the Bookport (the Bookport can handle wavs, but they take up allot of space). Plan on buying a microphone with the unit, as the Microphone in the recorder isn't very good. Other than those drawbacks, the recorders are very good ones. Aman

Subject: Voice recorders Hello, I'm looking for a digital voice recorder that has either USB interface or expansion slots for either Compactflash or MMC cards. I've seen a number of promising possibilities, but I don't want to buy something that is inaccessible. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't need something that's of professional quality, but I need something that will be good for recording reading, which I then plan to transfer to my Bookport. Thanks, Angie _______________________________________________ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
