You can get it for about $200 if you get it on special which Sony runs every so often. If tech. support from the company is a big deal, go somewhere else. Sony absolutely sucks. It's main value is that you can use standard word-processor type controls for editing and you can check the volume before starting a session to tell whether you're clipping. The main thing is to use what makes it easiest for you.
If you try GoldWave, the developers are very accessible. Both packages have lists with informed people on them.
