I've got XP as well and mine done that as well with the letters what I done was highlighted the drive that you wanted to change the letter of and then I'va go to File menu and then down the bottom of the file menu to the properties and see if you can change the letter there if you can't then you can try this step:
Highlight the drive that you want to change the letter of and then press Function key 2 (F2) and then you will be able to edit the drive letter
If that doesn't work or wasn't what you wanted please let me know and I'll see what I can think up
OK speak to you later

Subject: Changing Drive Letters
In Windows XP, does anyone know where in the world the ability to change or
re-assign my two CD-Rom drive letters would be?
They are coming up as drive f and drive g. I wish to get this back to drive
d and drive e.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
