You may also like to check the read commands that CDEX is using for your drive, if I recall their is a detect read command somewhere in CDEX, don't ask me where that command is though as its absolute ages! since I've played with that software. Also check the mode that CDEX is using for your CD-ROM/RW, whether its compatible wiht your drive and adaptor (burs mode etc).

I'm sure you'll find that (f you get the above setings right) this will be of more help the the track offset settings for the problems that have been discussed in this thread.
