You can use a CDRW. This is what I've been using since last fall. that way
you only need one disk to burn then convert to the harddrive.

But, Audible doesn't have an option To burn MP3 disks. It only allows you to
burn regular audio Cds, and a 20 hour book takes  a lot of those, believe
me.
