Tim, I know the difference between a .ram file and a .rm file. But, that wasn't the question. Maureen was trying to paste a path and filename into a player as a URL. My point was (and still is) that a path on a local drive is not a URL.
A URL begins with a protocol such as http or ftp. A file path begins with a drive letter. Some programs such as Internet Explorer can detect the difference automatically and deal with either one appropriately. Other programs such as winamp make a distinction between the two. In winamp, press the letter l to specify a file, press CTRL-L to specify a URL. In any case, you aren't playing a .ram file, you're using a .ram file to point to a .rm file or list of .rm files. _______________________________________________ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
