Hi, There is a program called ventrilo. You use the ventrilo server to host your chat room, and each person would use the ventrilo client to connect to the server and chat together. The best thing about this software is that it is free!! I know several blind individuals that have there own ventrilo chat room that they host on their home system. You can set up the server to have one of three different quality of sound output, and you can set up the server to have many different rooms. You can even require a password to enter some of the rooms or all of the rooms, depending on what you prefer. If you use Jaws, there are some Jaws scripts for the client part of the software, but I myself have never used the scripts. You can find the Jaws scripts at: www.jfwlite.com on the programs page.
