If your just speaking into the mike then a uni directional mike is better
because it just picks up what sounds  that are in front of it and not to the
sides.  Therefore, it would likely reduce some of the strange noise that it
is picking up from around the room.

As far as directional or not.
I cannot answer that question.
I would think it is the version that picks up from all directions.
Is this bad?
Could the version that picks up only in front of it   be the better choice?
