Helping my brother with his new computer. He had hum from the onboard sound card so we got a MAudio Audiophile 2496. The new card has hum on the outputs as well. He is going into his good stereo receiver line in via a rather long cable. He had no hum with that cable when it was used with his Tascam 4 track tape deck.
We turned off the power and even disconnected the power cable from the computer and still get the hum when the audio cable is connected to the sound card.
