I did - ironically the start_over script blew up pretty badly as well.
So I deleted /opt/oscar, /etc/odapw, and removed all of the MySQL RPMs.
 I am running a very very minimal "server install", but found I had to
add in a number of XORG, fonts, TK, etc. RPMs.

Yep - covered that front.

Thanks for the ideas.  Any others out there?  I guess I can start with a
clean OS install, but was hoping to avoid that...
