Bernie, I suggest "Semiflat Case", a model I created a couple of years ago.
It's a flattish box, so I think it'll be perfect for what you want:

In the photo-diagrams I use as references, on the starting square, vertical
fourths and horizontal thirds. That way you end up with a box for objects
that are 1 (length) x 1.5 (width). In order to adapt it for dollar bills
you would just have to change the horizontal thirds for the length of the
dollar bill plus something extra. Regarding the width, keep the vertical
fourths but the width of the starting square must be twice as wide as the
dollar bill plus something extra.
