Pipe cleaner flower warning I will also cross post on both lists I absolutely love this flower and have been using it at public teaching for years. But the last time I taught it, a young boy did something that still has me very concerned. I had been allowing the kids access to the pipe cleaners that I use for the stems. One of them, picked up a pipe cleaner and stuck his brother in the cheek! All sorts of warnings went off in my head. Am I liable for any medical expenses? What if the parents sue me?.....
Anyway the parents were unconcerned and replied that ‘boys will be boys’ and they rough-house all the time. I still use the flower for public teaching, but I keep control of the pipe cleaners. I fold the stem around the petals and turn the bottom end back about ¼” so it is not so rough. I may be overly worried, but I just wanted to let everyone know. Faye Goldman
