Hi, Leyla 6/10/2015

What a treat to hear about the way this lovely model turns up in so many
corners of the world!

Let me put on record the very simple-minded version that I loved making as
a kid, in 1950s in Chicago, from tissues (i.e. paper handkerchiefs like
Kleenex) and pipecleaners. The only folding required was the fan-pleating.
The tricky part was separating the 2 layers of each tissue.

Googling turned up these directions, using tissue paper (i.e. for gift wrap)
