Dear ELFAns, It is with a very heavy heart that I go to sleep tonight. elsje, one of the founders of ELFA and ELFA-e has departed today from this world (on the 17th of July 2014). elsje was a dear friend to all and the most generous person I have ever met. elsje's enthusiasm for folding, paper painting (sumi and ebru) and bubble making was legendary. She shared freely wanting all to see the beauty of what could be done with a piece of paper and some ink. She has many books to her credit and has participated in most of the ELFA booklets created. She diagrammed many folds and researched letter folds and folded envelope history extensively. The simplicity in which she approached folding and life in general were just amazing. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday 22 July on 10.30 o'clock at Natuurbegraafplaats Heidepol, Harderwijkerweg 37, 6816 VA Arnhem, Holland . Everybody is welcome to come and say goodbye to her. You can bring sunflowers or folded white cranes. For us who cannot make it to the funeral in person, your thoughts, prayers or meditations on love and attention would be appreciated. elsje (I believe) would be happy if each of us sends an ELFA fold to a friend to show them how much they are appreciated.
