Thank you for the update on the discussion at the Monday meeting. LF
definitely encourages the volunteers to participate in the open source
process. We have tools like Bitergia and Dev Analytics to get a read-out on
contributor contributions. These tools can be used to create a report of
any contributor. The LF intern program includes assigned mentors and
evaluations of the interns that provide the basis of a recommendation.
Without that sort of oversight, LF is not in a position to provide a letter
of recommendation - just as we don't provide recommendations for any open
source project contributors.

Having said that, LF wants to encourage these contributors AND the
community in recognizing the efforts of the contributor. If you or others
need help navigating the Dev Analytics/Bitergia to understand any
contributors contributions we can definitely help in educating on the tool
use. Perhaps a letter from the project lead OR the TSC chair with
contribution stats would be appropriate?
