David/Mathew,

Since was looking for similar test integration issues from Dovetail to
Yardstick, saw some reference in Yardstick that may give you some clue of state
of the art used in OPNFV projects...Since Mathew and Kubi are dealing with this
they can give David better insight on this.

Hi all,

Recollect the discussions we had earlier at OPNFV summit last year in Santa
Clara where should we place Test functions VM or Containers?

1. Jump Server - Was easiest and acceptable to CI team
2. OPNFV Controller - This was optional however FUEL team uses it for example
ODL installer (Feature or later Scenario) as per my recollection
3. External server other than Jump Server - This was difficult as Pharos team
did not want its configuration of 5 or less servers for PODs being violated.

May be we need to bring this back to Infrastructure team on their ongoing Lab
upgrades and best practices they recommend and if there is a link to it please
point out for all Projects and Test teams to review and plan.

Thanks
Prakash

Hi

It’s a good question.

From my experience, it depends. It depends on if this docker will influence the
already existing docker network. Compass now is OK. Even if you want to run on
jumpserver, if it conflicts with the already existing docker network(if it has
one), it will cause problems.
I think the original idea to isolate different test project codes by using
docker, and jumperserver is usually a place to put from view of architecture.
In other words, it also will be OK if you put on some host/VM as long as
correctly configured with the installer interface, just as what rally do, a 3rd
party test tool.

By now, I think it’s OK for you to put it on control node. Since its test case
grows, not sure if it will always OK depends on the test case design/running
method.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for your reply. It is very useful for me. But, I have another question
about yardstick. Could I run yardstick on control node? Because the docker
bring up from our jump host node could not access the public network
temporarily.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I want to install YardStick using Docker in OPNFV PoC enviorment. I try to pull
yardstick-ci docker from hub, but I can not get the right answer. I run docker
search yardstiack and can not find the yardstick-ci docker also.
So, where is the yardstick-ci docker? Or other docker to try the run-benchmarks?

Thanks & BRs
David
