Hi,

starting a [VOTE] to get approval allowing me to begin the development of OpenWrt "Two".

"Two" will have all of the features that "One" has with the following upgrades.

* MT7988
* 10G SFP
* 5G copper
* 4 port 2.5G copper
* 1-2 port 1G copper
* Tri-band Wi-Fi 7

"Two" will be produced by GL.iNet and we are exploring options for US/EU based distribution.

"Two" will (hopefully) be in the 250$ region with yet again a portion of that being donated to the project.

expected availability is late '25.

Would be really great! I would love to have a device like this to combine router, home automation and home NAS on a single device. So it should have at least have the capability for high performance storage, a removable mid to high performance backup storage (USB-C 3.x) and at least 1 other USB port for all kinds of wired and wireless home automation connectivity (P1 power meter, Zigbee, IO Home Control,...). I've seen the discussion on the internal USB hub. I think it is worth it to add more ports. External USB hubs are a pain for 24x7 use.

These devices are more than powerful enough (given sufficient RAM!) to run several VM instances for those tasks.

Maybe join forces with the Home Assistant guys to have this "two" as a supported platform where OpenWRT is the base OS and HA runs fully (with add-ons) as docker instances. They might then also be interested in making a HA branded edition as they did with the ODROID N2+ (HA Blue).

BR,
Bas.
