Yes, I'd also like to avoid unnecessarily switching every packet to the
CPU port (assuming it will be in prmisc mode from time to time). It
would be nice if we could add only the necessary VLANs there. I.e. VLAN
interfaces with IP config, or being members of another bridge, or
backing PPPoE, or whatever

But I don't know how to implement that automagically. I wouldn't want to
be forced to explicitly configure this either.
