Hi again, I tried to contact Jow on IRC several times unsuccesfully.
I've opened a pull request on openwrt-routing repository: https://github.com/openwrt-routing/packages/pull/8 If this request is accepted, bird should be removed from the packages feed. BTW in this pull request I moved the config files to /etc/bird$.conf as Jiri suggested.
