That is why the tools leave flash untouched. Try a dummy image, old image or another image and then use the openwrt image on top of that - this should result in messages like this: .. 0x80010000: Erasing 0x00010000 bytes 0x80010000: Writing 0x00010000 bytes 0x80020000: Erasing 0x00010000 bytes ..
