Hi,

For my part: I apologies to all who have been effected
by recent moderation problems at forums.openvpn.net

Reply:

generally "real" spam is not the problem,
Spam bots very rarely (if ever) get to post.
Real people posting spam still do and they are **crafty**
which is why we moderate all posts by new members.

This means:
reveiwing all new posts, making sure they are not spam ..

Once a post is approved, upto 100% need to be moved.
It takes time to read and understand most posts due to
all sorts of reasons e.g: "teh now who i am connet?" etc
and, as the current catagories are quite restricted
in comparison to the wild diversity of questions,
it can be difficult to decide where to move posts to.
It is difficult to maintain a standard ..
Personally, I tend to use Off-Topic quite hard.

There is an example "possible" spam awaiting approval.
I recognise the poster "...." and know I have deleted
a post recently from this user _as_ spam. Which is why I have
a hunch this is a bid to thwart our anti-spam measures ;-)
Configuration: rasberry pi server setup
(Last post in thread)

The poor quality posts e.g "PLZ HELP" are a constant
pain and I would like to recommend a new policy:
Delete all such posts!
There is a classic example awaiting approval now
Forum&websiteSupport: openvpn wont start
(Note: "The tone" ..... )

See the Mod-Control-Panel for details.

I would also like you to /consider/ a couple of new boards:
1) openvpn from 3rd parties: eg DD-WRT pfSense etc
2) a.n.other but not sure, in time I will have a suggestion.

None of this is a big problem .. just feedback.

Perhaps a point for an IRC meeting ?

Regards
