Hi, Is the spam from automated bots, or from real humans? Or are we talking of really poor quality posts along the lines of "PLZ HLP URGENT!!!"?
At least in the past the automated bots very blocked fairly easily by our external user management system. Basically bots tailored for PhpBB could not get through. At least for Trac this extra layer of security/obfuscation seems to help a lot; we occasionally get spam attachments to the front page, but so those can be deleted quickly because urlwatch notifies me of all front page modifications. -- Samuli Seppänen Community Manager OpenVPN Technologies, Inc irc freenode net: mattock > Spam filtering is hard. > > Moderators wanted. > > Eric (forum admin) > >> On Dec 29, 2015, at 12:36 PM, Jeff Boyce <jbo...@meridianenv.com> wrote: >> >> >>> On 12/18/2015 1:52 AM, Jan Just Keijser wrote: >>> Samuli Seppänen wrote: >>>>> On Thu, Dec 17, 2015 at 1:32 PM, Jeff Boyce <jbo...@meridianenv.com >>>>> <mailto:jbo...@meridianenv.com>> wrote: >>>>> >>>>> Is there a Forum moderator listening here, or someone else that >>>>> might >>>>> know what special incantation or secret password (sarcasm) is >>>>> needed to >>>>> get a message posted on the OpenVPN Forum? >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> No idea.
