Hi,

The actual configure options for official packages can be verified from 
the "rules" file (here is the one in Debian Jessie):

The "override_dh_auto_configure" section lists the configure options.

If you build from source you typically need to carefully review 
configure's output and ensure that all the desired features could be 
enabled. For example, if systemd development package is not installed, 
configure will disable systemd support, even if you system is systemd-based.
