FreeBSD 7.4 is the software museum [0] ;-) RHEL-7.0 was released 15 months _after_ FreeBSD 7.4. RHEL-7 is oldest the supported Linux distro we officially support in OpenVPN, and it gets updates from Red Hat until June 20204 [1]. RHEL-7 is fully C99 capable.
