To solve the problem for future contributions (if we agree there is a problem), wouldn't it be simpler to add one line to the commit saying something like "Copyright ownership by: Small Corp"? This can be semi-automatic by hackers (they only need to keep it current). We may even check automatically at the gate the validity of that assertion against the (to be built) database of Corporate CLAs. For past contributions and to solve immediately the issue with troveclient I guess we can use the data we have from activity board/gitdm/stackalytics.
