David,

You mentioned you have different areas to Implement OpenSSL. Let’s take Sales and Marketing as our examples.

Ex1:   https://sales.<something>.com

Ex2:   http://marketing.<something>.com

In here Sales Department will be listening on 443 port and rest on port 80. Socket Layer default port is 443.

Use this Documentation Link

Let me know if you need any other help.

Regards,

Chaitanya

Subject: Open SSL

Hello,

I am very new to SSL and I am very confused.

I have several areas on my site that I wish to be SSL protected, however I am not sure how to go about doing that.

I use a Hosting Service on Linux running Apache and mysql.  I originally attempted to purchase an SSL cert from ev1server.net but when I chose Apache Mod SSL it sent me to OpenSSL.  Well Im not paying for it if I don’t have too!

Anyway, I am not sure how to go about accomplishing my goals with SSL.

I need to get a certificate, get it installed, and get it setup for my particular needs.

That’s about as much as I understand about it.

Any thoughts, suggestions, and information would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

David
