Hmmm... This is too bad. I had a similar problem with Ms. Carasik's book, "Unix Secure Shell". It was riddled with misstatements, misunderstandings, and omissions. I found that I could not trust it and finally removed it from my reference shelf. She is quite pleasant in person, so I've always hoped that the book's difficulties were the result of bad editing. Sounds like maybe that wasn't the case.
