I've been following Apple for over 35 years now, and they have introduced and abandoned technologies on a regular basis. You can't dismiss the fact that they introduced and abandoned GC in only a few years and confidently declare that Swift won't go the same way. It might stick. It might not. It might be like FFS and ZFS and 64 bit Carbon and Blue Box and Metal. Or it may be like Yellow Box and turn into the next Cocoa. Same with their new memory management. Best keep on doing what works instead of diving into the churn.
