Because Solaris is backwards compatible? (;-)
For example, Legato NetWorker relies on a command from that package. Not having
the package installed, breaks something in Legato, if I recall correctly,
during install. But I don't remember any more what it was.
I personally explicitly exclude it from my Flash(TM) archive builds.
