Hi,

Glad the pointers were useful--here is one for Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) for Sun Cluster.

It would be the 'free trial' volume management solution instead of QFS. There are plans to integrate ZFS in Sun Cluster, but will not be until next major release of SC. SVM has been the solution going back many years, so the integration with SC is tight. I have asked the "is QFS free trial" question to the dev group, so I'll let you know what I find out. Hope this helps.
Isn't 'free trial' quite a bit different than 'free'?

It is to me.... my understanding was that the JES licensing change was announcing free software, not free trials. If I want support, of course, that's a different story and better get out the checkbook. But (I thought) if one does not want/need/can't afford the official support channels the software is still free. No?

Sorry this post is a bit out of context for osol-discuss, but you're the second Sun employee today to refer to something as 'free trial' or 'evaluation.' I realize QFS is not part of JES, but the other component I inquired about was Identity Manager, which is clearly listed in the new license agreement. I'm getting mixed messages, which is confusing, but perhaps it's just because this is so new....

Any clarification welcomed from those watching the list.

best,
Scott
